08.31.2005 One Bit Music and Dorkbot [Hands On]
One Bit Music by Tristan Perich is a CD jewel case-sized device that will bump lo-fi glitch/dance whenever you plug in a pair of headphones. Perich will demo and explain the project at the dorkbot nyc meeting on Wednesday, September 7th at 7pm at Postmasters Gallery (459 West 19th Street in Chelsea).

They’re a busy bunch – make sure you make the leap to their personal websites, most all of them have put great mp3s and videos on their sites for you to taste. These events are in the east coast, but check back in a bit for September/October international performances!
ORGANIZED COLOR INTOXICATION
Organized Color Intoxication is a multimedia installation by Jonathan Zalben that incorporates live instrumentalists, video projections, and audience participation. OCI will be exhibited in East Harlem August 17 through 20 with artwork by James De La Vega and in various Lower Manhattan locations on August 23 and 26.

07.22.2005 Dancing Dogs and Snake Boxing [Events]
A special treat tonight! Rooftop Films is screening Chaise Two feature, Freestyle on the lawn of the Automotive High School. Elena Elmoznino’s documentary profiles members of the World Canine Freestyle Organization – people who dance with (and bear a striking resemblance to) their dogs. Also playing tonight is Tom Tavee’s Kiss My Snake, a doc about the dangerous performance-sport of snake-boxing.

Four Star Day, Chris Keating and Grady Owens’ brilliant short film featured on Chaise Two, is being shown tonight at Rooftop Films! Some of us will be there handing out free copies of Chaise, and some of us will be off playing a super awesome rock concert at southpaw! 06.30.2005 ‘Red Things’ On the Roof [Events]
Max Porter’s Red Things is being shown at Rooftop Films friday night in Williamsburg! It is being screened as part of “Dark Toons,” a collection of animation (possibly distrubing), all of which look to be very awesome! It’s going down at the Automotive High School, 50 Bedford Ave. Some opening live music from The Couriers kicks off at 8:30 with the films beginning at 9pm. 06.23.2005 Chaise SASE Distribution Map [Chaise]
Chaise Two has been spreading out! Over the past week, we’ve sent out over 100 copies of the magazine to folks who’ve sent in Self-Addressed Stamped Envelopes (SASE), many of them viewers of g4tv’s Attack of the Show and readers of Flavorpill, but also from people who’ve visted this site or heard about the magazine through friends. Since we here in the office love to spend a sunny day inside in front of a compter, we made a purrty desktop-size image of how far and wide the SASE have spread so far! If you’re reading this, let’s all try to work together and hit up those blank areas, eh?

With great sadness and great shame, we must report that the Mac OS X versions of Josh Nimoy’s Ball Droppings and Textension were corrupted on the Chaise Two DVD-Rom. BUT, you have come to the right place to find working versions of both! Ball Droppings is also our staff pick for this month, complete with super fun fun demo showing sides of Ball Droppings perhaps incomprehensible to our meager human faculties. One can also get tricked out instructions and even a mobile phone version of Ball Droppings, at Balldroppings.com. Bennett the Baker also remixed the Ball Droppings audio in an earlier post.
06.21.2005 Watch Chaise on G4Tv’s Attack of the Show! [Chaise]
This past week, as you may have learned from our last news post, the lovely Bennett Baker Barbakow presented Chaise on the g4 network’s Attack of the Show. Since we know a lot of you are not in their 12-18 Male target group, we decided to syndicate the experience to y’all through our website! Click here to see us on TV!
