About Chaise
Chaise Magazine is an inventive collection of art and music, distributed free on DVD. The genre-crossing, two-disc set features work from emerging artists, animators, filmmakers, computer programmers, composers, and everyone in between. Our contributors use combinations of the cutting-edge and the traditional to create work that’s fresh, intelligent, and expresses a unique creative vision. Future issues of Chaise will not be limited to CD or DVD – packages can include screenprint originals, toys, books, and any sort of artist multiple you can imagine.
Chaise exists at the crossroads of art and technology. The rift between artist and technician has vanished: affordable software and hardware tools have freed artists to oversee their entire creative process, from moment of inspiration to packaging and distribution. The resulting work is an unfettered breath of fresh air, bridging the gap between new and traditional media, entertainment and high concept. Chaise sidesteps gallery spaces and record shops, propelling fine art into the 21st century, free of charge.
chaisemagazine.org serves as both a resource and network for creative production. Chaise is about sharing knowledge, discovering inspiring artwork, and encouraging collaboration. chaisemagazine.org highlights artist from the magazine, as well as posting exhibitions and events, calls for artwork, tutorials, and other websites on art and technology.
